About Chris

Christopher Daniel is an instructional design leader, college instructor, and LMS strategist with more than twenty five years of experience supporting teaching and learning in higher education. He currently serves as Senior Learning Management System Strategist at Eastern Kentucky University, where he played a central role in the university wide transition to Canvas. His work has supported more than two thousand faculty and staff and more than fifteen thousand students. His efforts focus on improving educational technology capacity, advancing operational efficiency, and strengthening the overall digital learning environment.
Chris also served as Interim Director of the EKU Online Instructional Design Center, where he guided online course development and led a team of instructional designers, associates, and technologists. Prior to this role he managed university wide professional development for faculty, facilitating more than sixty workshops each year on online teaching, instructional technology, and course design. His instructional design career began in 2014, with significant contributions to the EKU School of Nursing and a long record of developing accessible, high impact learning materials, vendor partnerships, and multimedia learning assets.
Chris teaches in the Learning Design and Technology program at the University of Kentucky. He has also served as program co founder and faculty member in EKU’s graduate program in Instructional Design and Learning Technology. He helped align the program with IBSTPI standards and contributed to steady enrollment growth. His courses have included Online Learning Design, Game Design for Learning, Instructional Design II, and Distance Learning Research and Design.
Chris holds a Doctor of Education in Instruction and Administration from the University of Kentucky, a Master of Public Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in Public Relations. He maintains several professional credentials, including Canvas Certified Technical Admin, Quality Matters Coordinator and Peer Reviewer, and Asana Workflow Specialist. His skills span LMS administration, instructional and multimedia design, accessibility, e-learning technologies, web and data systems, and instructional quality frameworks. He continues to support institutions, faculty, and learners through thoughtful design, strategic leadership, and a commitment to practical and effective digital learning experiences.
